The Kims
Project
For this very personal wedding, I created an identity based on the wedding date, and paired it with a stamp from Korea that cleverly combined the bride and groom’s last names into a word sounding like “grim.” These elements were initially introduced in the save-the-date and seeded throughout the following materials
The invitation and RSVP were tucked and sealed inside a neatly-folded map of Marfa, which noted key event locations, all 4 hotels in the town. And why it's the perfect location for a Texan bride and a Korean groom to share their Donald Judd/Star Wars, NYC/desert, minimalist/nerd-punk love.
Online, we provided a complete and regularly updated Marfa guide to show the guests how to have a good time in this remote town.
The wedding day incorporated the minimalist styling in the table numbers, seating chart, menus, programs.
Gift bags included an itinerary for the weekend, wristbands for access to food and events, vinyl stickers, organic bug spray and palo santo, reusable water bottles, Marfa Brand soap, and a personal "Marfa light" to help guests find their way in the famously dark nights
